Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 'Satte Pe Satta' remake
Aishwarya Rai and Sanjay Dutt have worked together in Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin (2002) and Shabd (2005), but unfortunately both the films failed to create any magic at the box office. If, everything goes well, we will now get to see the two talented actors together once again in the remake of the 70s superhit 'Satte Pe Satta'. Ash will play the role of Hema Malini and Sanjay Dutt, of course, will play the role played by Big B.

Aishwarya Rai walked down the ramp in a Gauri and Nainika Karan designed blue gown at Taj Palace hotel for the promotion of Longines Dolce Vita watch collection. At the launch party of the watches Mrs. Rai Bachchan shared her experience of shooting a commercial for the brand in Rome along with Kate Winslet and Chi Ling Lin.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a Blue GownThe Durbar Hall of the Taj Palace was transformed into the Roma of 60s that came out of Fredrico Fellini’s films. The ambience was perfect as Italian jazz numbers were performed and two dancers took the stage during the event too.
Ten watches that were showcased at the launch party of Longines Dolce Vita, had their price from Rs.95,000 to that of Rs. 2.6 lakh. While Aishwarya flaunted the gown in rich blue the other models were clad in rich hues like burgundy, wine red, dark shades of green, black and white.

The hackneyed plot of this sci-fi Bollywood blockbuster borders on the ridiculous.
A very unlikely love story
The leads of this film are Rajnikant and Aishwariya Rai. When I heard who the cast was I was shocked and knew I had to watch this movie. Rajnikant is plays two roles in the movie – one of scientist Dr Vasigaran who creates a sentient robot and the second of Chitthi – the robot. The beautiful Ash portrays Sana in the movie.
Rai looks elegant and seems to grow more beautiful with age. On the other hand Rajnikant sports a beard in the movie which gives him a perfect look for a bear! Besides that his tummy is enhancing with age.
A tale of love, revenge and microchips
Dr Vasigaran invents a robot who can do it all – even love. In a not so Frankenstein like situation Chitti falls madly in love with Vasigaran’s girlfriend Sana. The look-alike robot proposes to Sana who not surprisingly rejects him saying:
“I love Vasigaran, you are my best friend.”
The poor broken hearted (broken motherboard?) robot is enraged and becomes intent on revenge as a result the good doctor destroys him.
But love never dies.
Dr Vasigaran’s arch-nemesis creates an ‘evil’ Chitthi. (Apparently, installing a red chip inside the robot makes him evil.) In this half of the movie the robot makes his own army to conquer the world and most importantly to marry his beloved Sana.
Evil Chitti’s master plan is to:
1) inject his ‘electronic genes’ into SanaBut at the end of all Hindi movies achai ke jeet hoti hai. Chitthi’s army of robots die because of - yes it’s true – low battery. Evil Chitthi remains until Dr Vasigaran successfully plugs out the evil chip and Evil Chitthi turn into Good Chitthi.
2) Sana will become the first lady on earth to give birth to a hybrid baby.

The mosquito scene: Chitthi, who holds many talents, is also gifted with the ability to communicate with animals and understand what they say. So when Sana (Rai) is bitten by a mosquito in a scene Chitthi runs behind the mosquito and ask it to apologize. Instead, the mosquitoes try to attack the robot and of course fail to bite his metal frame. The offending insect then says sorry to Sana who responds by saying “It’s okay.”
Baby delivery scene: In the movie Chitthi helps deliver a baby of a pregnant lady and communicates the exact timings of procedure to doctors simultaneously.
Doctors without morals scene: In another scene our brave robot helps Sana cheat in one of her MBBS exams with the help of microphone.
A handgun: The least ridiculous feature of the film (besides the plot) was Chitthi’s gun. He uses his forefinger as gun and thumb as trigger!
Through out the movie I was wondering why Sana (Rai) was running away from her robot-lover. After all what could he do to her? He wasn’t really date rape material.
Creativity is a good thing but…
From start till end this movie makes no sense. I fail to understand why Aishwariya Rai agreed to do this movie? True, Hollywood movies often show far flung plots and exaggeration but these ideas are backed up with logical sub-plots. Bollywood movies almost always exaggerate. There is nothing wrong with being creative and showcasing unrealistic scenes – the question is how are you doing it.

It seems that Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is tired of people addressing her by her nickname 'Ash' and has requested them to call her by her full name.

Bollywood Bond girl furious over Elle magazine cover 'skin-whitening' scandal - Fans of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were left stunned last week after the actress's skin appeared to have been digitally lightened on the cover of a new issue of Elle magazine.
Now the 37-year-old Bollywood star, who is widely believed to be the world's most beautiful woman, is said to be considering suing the Indian version of the title over what has been deemed 'racist airbrushing'.
The actress herself has not commented on the situation, but friends of the Bride and Prejudice star have said she is 'furious'.

'Aishwarya's first reaction was disbelief,' said one.
'She believed that these things don't happen anymore. Not in this day and age when women are recognised for their merit, and not for the colour of their skin.
'She is currently verifying this skin-whitening allegation. If there is any proof of this, she might even take action.'
Another adder: 'She is clearly the global face of the contemporary Indian woman. The last thing she'd want is to have a global image coloured by a racial suggestion.'
Neither Elle magazine or Mrs Bachan were available for comment today. The actress, a former Miss World who is married to fellow actor Abhishek Bachchan, is thought to be too preoccupied by her father, who is ill, to look into the matter further.

Fans of Mrs Bachchan were the first to notice that her skin was several shades lighter than usual, and were quick to view concerns on social networking sites such as Twitter.
One wrote: ‘It’s annoying because it seems like lighter skin is always in fashion as if darker skin is something to be frowned upon.’
This is not the first time Elle magazine has come under fire over such airbrushing, and this latest storm echoes one sparked by a cover of the U.S. edition earlier this year.
In September, black actress Gabourey Sidibe appeared on the cover of the title with a noticeably paler complexion.

On that occasion Elle claimed it had not altered the Precious star’s skin any more than that of the other models photographed alongside her.
Editor-in-chief Robbie Myers dismissed the suggestion of racism, explaining: 'At a photo shoot, in a studio, that is a fashion shoot, that's glamorous, the lighting is different. The photography is different than a red carpet shot from a paparazzi.'
Skin lightening is a controversial issue in India and those with a lighter complexion are often perceived to be more successful and wealthy.

Monday, January 17, 2011 Aishwarya Rai Bachchan replaced by Hot Freida Pinto
(1) Aishwarya Rai Bachchan went missing from a New Year commercial shoot of the cosmetic brands that she endorses as Hot Freida Pinto to shoot for it and will feature in all the global names to endorse the product.
(2) At the Ponds Gold Radiance Zee Cine Awards 2011 which was held in Singapore, she bagged special jury award for her performance in Bollywood Latest Releases Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali Guzaarish Movie.
She also performed at the event on hit numbers from Raavan, Action Replayy and Robot.
The award comes right after winning a gong for cinematic excellence for her work for the same film at the recently held Apsara Awards.
(3) Recently, she has now decided to choreograph her performances on stage or award functions. She is set to belt out new dance moves too during her shows, steps that have been invented by her. Thus they will be fresh moves that she has not danced on even in her films. She was suffering from viral fever but she kept preparing herself for her show so that she gives out a stunning performance. She even did a shoot with her husband Abhishek Bachchan. Talk about being a professional.
